Local Communities

Bluffview / Devonshire

Country lanes, wooded lots, rolling hills, white cliffs and scenic views are the hallmarks of Bluffview. Secluded and hidden, Bluffview is home to a number of city leaders and political figures. Bluffview offers privacy and has the feel of Eastern rural living. Devonshire is much in demand for many first-time buyers who like the convenience of this great location and charm of the typical homes. Downtown and Love Field Airport are 5 minutes away.

Greenway Parks

Located between University and Mockingbird and just west of the Dallas North Tollway and Inwood Road, this charming neighborhood showcases older homes full of character and charm, as well as some new construction. Some of the streets without alleys, backup to beautiful lush greenbelts, maintained by volunteers. Greenway Parks is a delightful community with a strong sense of pride. Although it falls under the umbrella for Dallas city services, Greenway Parks residents consider it a small somewhat private enclave (like Highland Park) - without a separate city government or association dues. Area north of University is Greenway Crest, lots can be a bit smaller, but has all the character of Greenway Parks. Walking distance to Inwood Village with restaurants and shopping.

Highland Park

Highland Park is a separate town considered one of the most prestigious addresses in the country, with a school district rated in the National Top 10. The town was incorporated in 1913 and has been a real estate success story from the beginning. Property values in this part of town are among the most stable in the area. Home to the Dallas Country Club, Highland Park Village and 12,000 residents, truly a small town feeling where neighbors actually know each other. The properties are a mix of older and newer houses (cottages, "McMansions" and true mansions) built on lots in established settings from 1910's to the present day.

Lake Highlands

Lake Highlands is nestled in the northeast portion of the city and lies primarily north of Northwest Highway and White Rock Creek south of Walnut Hill and west of Plano Road. With about 1,700 homes in the community some of which range in age from 80 years up. Rolling hills, winding streets and tall trees, with "L" Streets, are just about all located within the Richardson School Dristrict. Top Golf on Park Lane is a sports entertainment complex combining games and golf year round.

Lakewood

Lakewood area is known for its beautiful homes of many architectural styles, the Historic Swiss Avenue is located here. The prominent Lakewood Country Club sets peaceful surroundings for homeowners. Close proximity to outdoor landmarks like White Rock Lake, the Arboretum and Botanical Garden, boasting picturesque views of the lake, people sailing and biking, fishermen runners, and momentous estates around the lake. The popular "M streets" (streets that begin with "M") are south of Mockingbird Lane, east of North Central Expressway, a neighborhood of cottages and smaller homes with peaks, arches and charming architecture. Lately, some of the oldest homes are being replaced by new construction creating larger homes, for family dwelling.

Preston Hollow / North Dallas

Preston Hollow is an affluent and very established neighborhood known for spacious lots and sprawling houses. Parts of Preston Hollow area among the few areas that permit equestrian. The shady country lane feel and size of the properties is a part of the appeal that lures the city's most well known entrepreneurs. Convenient access to downtown, Love Field Airport, as well as Cooper Aerobic Center and some of Dallas finest private schools. This area is experiencing new construction of luxury homes, replacing some of the older and out dated. University Park

University Park (U.P.) has approximately 25,000 residents. The recently updated U.P. town hall, built in 1925, houses police, fire, city offices and city court. Many of the early U.P. families had a connection with the new university ... Southern Methodist University. Today, SMU features a superb Law School, Business School, program for the performing Arts and new football stadium. Most of University Park was developed primarily from 1930 to 1960. Recently, there has been substantial new construction replacing some of the older houses as well as a great deal of preservation and renovation. Homes of various styles and age share the same tree lined streets and great U.P. Both Highland Park and University Park share the excellent public school system of the Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD), which is regarded as one of the best in the nation -- a top 100 school district.

Uptown

Oak Lawn, Turtle Creek and Uptown communities facilitate residential, commercial, art, entertainment and restaurants. Knox Street, West Village and The Vineyard areas are a part of the same environment and home to the active young professional with setting where one can live, shop, dine and socialize within minutes of downtown. Basically made up of townhouses, condominiums, lofts, and high-rise properties with also modest and elaborate rentals. The area is well serviced by public transportation and is close to Love Field Airport. Area points of interest feature McKinney Avenue, the Dallas Museum of Art, American Airlines Arena, the Dallas' Theater Center. Hotels in this nestled area include The Crescent, The Mansion, The Ritz, and The W Hotel at Victory Park.
